COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

SPROUT UP SCHOOLS CIC

Company Number: 12789126 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 August 2025

Company activities and impact

Sprout Up Schools was set up in 2020 to help schools make the most of their outdoor spaces and reconnect children with nature. During our financial year 2024-25, the company benefitted the community as follows: - delivered projects in 5 state schools in South London, including 2 playground redevelopments, reclaiming a veg growing area that had fallen into disrepair, installing willow structures into previously designed spaces and multiple volunteer planting sessions - designed 2 new outdoor spaces to be built in the next financial year - consulted with key stakeholders from the schools, pupils and their parent / carer communities, incorporating their feedback and specific requests - developed partnerships with local businesses to support the building and delivery of projects, as well as sourced plants and materials for free or at a reduced cost to make budgets for external spaces stretch further - followed up each project with support and guidance on how to get the best from their spaces

Consultation with stakeholders

The company's stakeholders are the staff, children and wider communities of the schools with which we work. From the inception of a project through to and beyond the delivery, we are in constant communication with these stakeholders and use their feedback to make adjustments. A project will start with a site visit and consultation to gather information and ideas from the school community, generally including the head teacher, outdoor learning lead/s, premises officers and parents group representative. We will share suggestions and expertise to help make immediate changes, and support staff to see how they can use, develop and transform their school's outdoor spaces. Once a plan has been developed, this is shared with the wider audience for feedback and there are regular opportunities to understand how the community is feeling about a project through site meetings and build points.

Directors' remuneration

The total amount paid or receivable by directors in respect of qualifying services was £18,500.
