For the year ending 30 August 2025 the company was entitled to exemption under section 477 of the Companies Act 2006 relating to small companies.

  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Turnover policy

    Turnover is measured at the fair valueof the consideration received or receivable

    Tangible fixed assets depreciation policy

    Tangible fixed assets held for the company's own use are stated at cost less accumulated depreciation and accumulated impairment losses. At each balance sheet date, the company reviews the carrying amount of its tangible fixed assets to determine whether there is any indication that any items have suffered an impairment loss. If any such indication exists, the recoverable amount of an asset is estimated in order to determine the extent of the impairment loss. Depreciation is provided at the following annual rates in order to write off the cost or valuation less the estimated residual value of each asset over its estimated useful life: Freehold buildings 1%% Straight line Leasehold land and buildings 10% Over the Lease Term Plant and machinery 15% Reducing balance Motor vehicles 20% Reducing balance Furniture, fittings and equipment 15% Reducing balance

Company activities and impact

ENT Academy is a platform to improve and deliver educational activity in the speciality of ENT. In the year 2024-25, it successfully ran 2 x surgical courses for training attended by more than 60 trainees/surgeons. These courses attracted several international trainers and trainees and consultants attend for educational experience. The academy undertake a sponsorship for underprivileged trainees to attend educational training in UK and also sponsor other educational activities.

Consultation with stakeholders

The stakeholders are Trainees and established consultants in ENT. At each course, very detailed feedback was sought and analysed from each of the attending trainees to gauge the quality of the educational exercise but also methods of improvement. The course content, and feedback was formally assessed by The National ENT Body- ENT UK, and certified by them. The Academy remains involved and engaged with the trainees in the national trainee societies of Association of Otolaryngology Trainees and the BSFPS junior’s section. It also has trainees as part of the organising committee to ensure active engagement with the stakeholders.
