F*Choir is a values-driven, community-led choir committed to inclusivity, artistic excellence, and social impact. In the financial year 2025, the organisation engaged in a wide range of creative, performance, and community-building activities that significantly benefited its diverse members and the wider public. F*Choir hosted numerous open sessions, rehearsals, a tour with a black trans musical elder and performances in London, Manchester and Oxford. The choir also developed a range of new songs and techniques, and continued to work on our visual comms to expand our audiences. These activities continued to offer accessible cultural engagement to diverse audiences and deepened the choir's artistic practice. The choir's impact on community wellbeing has been excellent. In 2025 with over 70 singers and 10 freelance staff members, F*Choir fostered a supportive, non-hierarchical environment that celebrates LGBTQ+ identities, neurodivergence, intersectionality and difference. We're reshaping London’s community choral landscape with an experimental, unique repertoire and underrepresented voices. Our membership is 82% women/non-binary, 95%, LGBTQ+, 61% BPOC, 47% working class, 90% disabled/neurodivergent. In contrast to the UK Music's Government report that recorded the sector as only 30% women/non-binary, 17% LGBTQ+, 11% BPOC and 25% disabled respectively. Our freelance team are all trained-up members, and we’re proud to be a 100% LGBTQ+, women and non-binary, neurodivergent team, with 50% identifying as BPOC and working class; reflecting the diversity of the people we support. Blending decades of professional experience with lived insight to build an inclusive alternative to traditional and exclusionary choral spaces. 74% of participants said they had previously been unable to access services, support, or groups that would benefit their mental or physical health. 91% said F*Choir has contributed to improving mental or physical health/wellbeing. F*Choir reinvests 100% of its income into sustaining its operations and social aims. In 2025 the majority of the money raised was spent on our diverse freelance staff team continuing to develop their professional and creative careers. We led a very successful crowdfunding campaign and increased our traded income to support this.
F*Choir’s stakeholders include regular choir members (approximately 70), open session attendees (150 - 300 annually), audience members (1,000+ per year), and local and national organisational partners. Regular members are engaged through quarterly Kitchen Table meetings, which function as a community board where key decisions and reflections are tabled and discussed, often facilitated by the members also. In addition, all members are invited to participate in the Annual General Meeting (AGM), where they vote on proposed policy changes and constitutional matters. In 2025 our AGM was well attended and led to updates to our constitution and plans for the coming year. F*Choir’s working groups - covering areas such as access, song culture, gig coordination, and merchandise - are entirely volunteer-led by members, meaning stakeholders are directly involved in shaping the CIC’s priorities as they are developed. This structure ensures that decision-making is deeply embedded in the community we serve. Financial governance is transparently reported at the AGM and shared with the wider membership for comment and accountability, as well as periodically at rehearsals such as fundraising updates. Feedback from these consultations is actively integrated into programming and operational adjustments. To further support stakeholder voice, F*Choir conducts online impact surveys for regular members, open session participants, and audience members. These surveys help assess the effectiveness of the choir’s ongoing work and identify areas for growth or change. Additionally, partner organisations provide feedback following collaborative projects, which is considered in future planning. Through this layered and inclusive consultation model, F*Choir ensures that its activities remain aligned with the needs and values of its diverse community.
The aggregate amount of emoluments paid to or receivable by directors in respect of qualifying services was £33,845. There were no other transactions or arrangements in connection with the remuneration of directors, or compensation for director’s loss of office, which require to be disclosed.
