COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

WE ARE GARDEN GUARDIANS CIC

Company Number: 14414952 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 October 2025

Company activities and impact

During this financial year Garden Guardians has attended numerous festivals with information stalls. We have also hosted our own events called ‘Growing Wild For Nature’ aimed predominantly for the younger generations. These events were designed to educate, empower and inspire, connecting with nature and giving ways we can all help the natural world. We partnered with other environmental groups for these events and included many different activities, displays and interactive elements. We also gave away free wildflower seeds & vegetable seeds to attendees as well as encouraging people to sign our garden guardians pledge, which details ways of helping the environment by adopting core values. All the events were free to attend and hundreds of packs of wildflower seeds were given away. These activities have benefited the community by sharing information about how best to assist the natural world which will mean that people will be informed about how best to help increase biodiversity and enable to ecosystems to thrive. By making the events free meant that they were accessible to everyone and gave families something of value to do in school holidays. Giving away free seeds meant that people had something tangible to take away with them to help nature and connect with the natural world, as well as growing plants that they could eat.

Consultation with stakeholders

The company's stakeholders are anyone who has attended our events, or those where we have hosted a talk or activity. They are also our online community, those who follow us on social media or who visit our website. The other groups we work with are also our stakeholders, as is the animal sanctuary where we are creating our education hub. We have also been speaking directly with many schools about how we can put together the next phase of our project, as well as Ashden Trust, in relation to the Let’s Go Zero campaign and how the project links with this. During the events we hosted, we asked for feedback from attendees and, as a result, included additional activities in subsequent events. We also attended many meetings with other groups and organisations carrying out similar work, and are actively exploring ways to work collaboratively.
