Between 31st August 2024 and 31st August 2025 Second Glance Theatre developed and produced a poetry night based on the theme of men’s mental health. We invited poets from every age decade to perform, starting with a young man in his teens right up to a gentleman in his 80s. The community was benefited through this event by raising awareness for men’s mental health, giving local poets the opportunity to perform and raising money for a mental health charity through ticket sales.
The company’s stakeholders are local performers and audience members. After producing our poetry night, we sought feedback from both the performers and the audience about how we could develop and improve future events. By asking questions about how performers found the lead up to the event and the event itself, it gave us insight into how we can maintain strong relationships with performers that we work with. And our audience gave us great feedback about what attracted them to the event as well as the benefits they found in our work. All of which will help us improve future events.
