During the financial year 2024-2025 the company engaged with children in the local area by providing science free assemblies to over 35 participating primary schools. This year, 919 children actively took part in the educational science after school programme, enhancing their learning at a low cost to parents. This is similar to last year as we are still seeing the effects of the cost of living crisis. As such we have been offering more free spaces to schools to give to children that meet their criteria for help with such costs. Bright Sparks continued to support the home education community by offering regular science workshops to more local groups to supplement their syllabus and help to cover aspects of the national curriculum they struggle with. Bright Sparks worked with a number of cub scout and Brownie groups delivering fun science workshops tailored for them to achieve their science badge. Bright Sparks also participated in Berkshire Young Farmers County Show and a local lambing event by providing science activity stalls at the event for the public to get hands-on with.
The business works closely with local charities, and community groups and council run organisations to work out a strategy to reach wider audiences. This has included putting together a programme of events in low income areas and offer free events for the communities. Examples of such events included taking part in the local ATOM Science and Technology Festival and several Oxfordshire Play Association (OPA) Play days.
£17,125 was paid by means of director's remunerations. No other benefits were received.
No transfer of assets other than for full consideration
