The company took over the running of the annual Rose Festival from the volunteer committee and this year’s event proved to be a great success. Blessed with excellent weather, the procession through the village was watched by substantial numbers of villagers and the subsequent fete on the school field was attended in record numbers of adults and children. The implementation of wristband-only entry enabled quicker access to the fete, and the introduction of a separate food court was very well received. New signage and dedicated marshalling of the adjacent car park also worked well. The investment in new costumes and the replacement of awnings covering the stalls enhanced the overall look of the event, and the new storage containers helped speed up the set up and take down process. The tradition of an annual Rose Festival dating back to 1905 continues to be the highlight of the village year, and the involvement of village organisations and business, the local agricultural community, the village primary school staff and pupils, and enthusiastic volunteers across the age spectrum provide a strong and healthy unifying focus for the village
The company’s stakeholders are the villagers of Goostrey, Cheshire, local farms and other businesses, and children attending Goostrey Community Primary School located in the village, and their parents/guardians. The company communicates with and receives feedback from stakeholders through the following – Annual AGM open to all stakeholders held each year in September Monthly update in the Goostrey Parish Magazine Via Social Media including Facebook & the company’s own Website Periodic articles in the local press Information published in the Primary School’s weekly newsletter
