COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

URBAN MOORINGS C.I.C.

Company Number: 10351573 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 August 2025

Company activities and impact

The last year has seen a continuation of volunteering and community engagement. We have continued to utilise our community spaces, engaging new visitors through twice-weekly Craft Clubs. Other community craft groups have also used the spaces to host their events. We have retained our 5 Star Hygiene rating for the serving of refreshments and pre packed food. Our volunteers have continued to help maintain the gardens and keep the site in good condition. They have also contributed to the building projects completed on-site this year. We have maintained the number of moorers at the site, who have continued to contribute volunteer hours to projects. We are still providing a ‘Boatmail’ service and continuing the sales of Coal, Gas and Diesel, which encourages visitors to stop.

Consultation with stakeholders

The company's stakeholders are Canal and River Trust, the City of Wolverhampton Council, Local Residents and Canal Boaters. The company has been in ongoing and active discussions with CRT and WCC as to how the company and its ethos fit within plans for local regeneration. Together a plan forward has been agreed, and it was made clear the Council and CRT would help in any way they were able to allow the project to succeed. Continued engagement with our Local Councillor has enabled us to gauge the needs of Local Residents and establish lines of communication with other local community projects and institutions. Social Media, Networking Events and Community Events have allowed engagement with Local Residents and Boaters which has fed back into project ideas and given an overview of local needs.
