During this financial year, Nature and Health Practitioners CIC has continued to strengthen and expand its role as a regional network supporting nature-based health and wellbeing practice across the West of England and beyond. Our work has focused on connecting practitioners, organisations, health profes-sionals, environmental groups, educators and community projects working within the growing field of nature-based health. Throughout the year we have hosted regular network meetings, steering group gatherings and collabora-tive forums which have enabled practitioners and organisations to share knowledge, develop partner-ships and strengthen standards in practice. These spaces have supported greater communication and col-laboration across the sector while helping to build a stronger and more connected professional commu-nity. We have continued to widen participation within the network by welcoming new members from a range of backgrounds including mental health, social prescribing, education, community development, envi-ronmental work and therapeutic practice. Our activities have supported the sharing of emerging re-search, practical resources and examples of good practice in nature-based approaches to health and wellbeing. This year we have also continued to support the development of special interest groups focused on key areas including mental health, children and young people, and standards in practice. These groups have provided more focused opportunities for members to contribute their experience and shape the future direction of the network. The company’s activities have benefited the community by strengthening access to collaborative learn-ing, supporting the development of safe and effective nature-based practice, encouraging cross-sector partnership working, and helping to build a healthier and more connected relationship between people, health and the natural environment.
Nature and Health Practitioners CIC continues to actively engage with stakeholders across the network and to ensure that the direction of the organisation remains responsive to the needs of the community it serves. Stakeholders include practitioners, health professionals, environmental organisations, community groups, educators, researchers, students, social prescribing teams and members of the wider public who are interested in nature-based approaches to health and wellbeing. Consultation has taken place through a combination of regular forum meetings, steering group meetings, collaborative discussions, feedback conversations and participation within special interest groups. These processes allow members to contribute ideas, raise emerging needs and help shape priorities for the net-work. During the year, feedback from stakeholders has continued to highlight the importance of strengthening peer support, developing standards in practice and creating more opportunities for shared learning and collaboration. In response, the CIC has continued to support and develop its special interest groups fo-cused on mental health, children and young people, and standards in practice, and the VCSE sector. The organisation remains committed to being an open and collaborative practice network for Green and Blue Care, Nature Health and Wellbeing, Ecotherapy and related nature-based approaches. We contin-ue to support connections between practitioners, academics, environmental organisations, health ser-vices and community projects, while encouraging the development of similar networks in other regions. Our close relationship with the West of England Nature Partnership continues to support joined-up working across health, environment and community sectors. We remain committed to listening to our stakeholders and adapting the network in ways that reflect the evolving needs of the field.
