The Company is now trading from the permanent purpose-built cafe building in Shorts Road Park and continues to provide a friendly and welcoming place for the Community to gather to enjoy good quality food and drink at affordable prices. The Company has benefited the community by: Providing volunteering opportunities for over 45 adults Providing employment for three people living in the Community, two of whom are adults with additional learning needs. Hosting several events with the Parish Council – D-Day, VE Day, Volunteer Celebration Providing a space for a Community Pantry, run by the Parish Council Providing a collection point for the Eastleigh Basics Bank. Providing work experience opportunities and support socialisation for pupils of a local secondary school. Providing voluntary work experience for young adults not in work and supporting those seeking work by providing references.
The Company’s stakeholders are primarily the residents and community visitors in the villages of Fair Oak and Horton Heath. Other stakeholders include organisations such as the Parish Council, St Thomas Church and the Fair Oak Community library. The Fountain Cafe run a Facebook page which provides general information, such as opening times, to the public. This platform also provides an opportunity for stakeholders to comment, make suggestions and share feedback about their experiences. The cafe team also welcome face to face feedback during opening hours. Each comment, however received, is fully considered by the management team.
