Within this financial year, Footle UK CIC has continued its work supporting rural communities, with a particular focus on the farming community through emotional wellbeing initiatives and reducing social isolation. Work has continued through community outreach, relationship building, and early-intervention approaches designed to improve access to support and encourage connection within rural communities. During the reporting period, significant challenges continued to affect many individuals living and working in rural environments. Footle UK CIC continued to develop its presence within agricultural settings, creating opportunities to engage with people who may otherwise face barriers to accessing support and wellbeing services. In addition, Footle UK CIC expanded its community activities to include work with older adults, recognising the increased risk of loneliness, reduced mobility, and isolation within predominantly rural areas. Community wellbeing activities were initiated to encourage social connection, improve confidence, increase physical activity, and promote overall wellbeing. The organisation has seen encouraging community engagement throughout the year, with positive feedback and increased participation demonstrating growing demand for accessible rural wellbeing support. Footle UK CIC remains committed to improving wellbeing, reducing isolation, and strengthening community resilience within the communities it serves.
Prior to and throughout the delivery of activities, Footle UK CIC has continued to engage with stake-holders to understand local need, identify barriers to support, and shape service delivery. Stakeholders include members of the farming and agricultural community, farm workers, rural residents, family members, older adults, community participants, and local community networks within the organisation’s geographical area. Consultation has taken place through direct conversations, community engagement activities, informal discussions, participation feedback, ongoing relationship building, and regular review of participant experiences and emerging community needs. Feedback is continually sought and recorded to help ensure activities remain relevant, accessible, and responsive to the communities being served. Consultation identified continued demand for support addressing social isolation, emotional wellbeing, community connection, and opportunities to improve overall wellbeing within rural communities. Feedback also highlighted the importance of accessible activities for older adults living within rural areas, where barriers to participation and social opportunities can be more significant. In response to consultation findings, Footle UK CIC continued and expanded its rural community work, maintaining support initiatives within the farming community whilst also initiating and developing activities aimed at older adults. Community wellbeing activities were delivered to encourage participation, improve social connection, reduce isolation, and increase opportunities for engagement within rural communities. The organisation remains committed to listening to stakeholders and using consultation feedback to shape future activity, ensuring services continue to reflect identified community need and deliver meaningful community benefit.
