Bounce Black CIC is a social enterprise dedicated to supporting Black students and professionals to thrive holistically in education, employment, wellbeing, leadership, and community life. During the financial year, the company delivered a range of programmes, events and community initiatives aimed at addressing racial inequities, improving wellbeing outcomes, and increasing access to personal and professional development opportunities for Black communities in the UK. Throughout the year, Bounce Black facilitated online and in-person workshops and events focused on workplace wellbeing, racial trauma, career development, leadership, identity, healing, and personal growth. The company also delivered initiatives designed to support Black students and graduates with workplace readiness, confidence-building, and employability skills. This took place primarily through the flagship programme pilot of the Roots: Career Foundations Programme, which provided participants with practical career support, mentoring, and professional development opportunities. Bounce Black also hosted and collaborated on cultural and community events that created safe and empowering spaces for dialogue, learning, networking, and healing within the Black community. These activities encouraged community connection, increased awareness of issues affecting Black people in workplaces and educational settings, and promoted holistic wellbeing. In addition, the company developed educational and digital resources addressing topics such as workplace racial equity, racial trauma, holistic flourishing, and community empowerment. Through its campaigns, partnerships, and public engagement activities, Bounce Black continued to amplify underrepresented voices and advocate for healthier, more equitable environments for Black students and professionals. The company’s activities benefited the community by: - Providing accessible support, education, and development opportunities for Black students and professionals; - Improving awareness and understanding of racial wellbeing and workplace inclusion issues; - Creating safe spaces for dialogue, healing, networking, and peer support; - Supporting confidence, employability, leadership development, and personal growth; - Encouraging community connection and long-term social impact through culturally informed and trauma-informed approaches.
The company’s stakeholders include programme participants, Black students and professionals, community members, facilitators, partner organisations, collaborators, funders, volunteers, and event attendees. Stakeholders were consulted through a variety of methods including feedback forms, surveys, informal discussions, social media engagement, community conversations, virtual meetings, and direct participant feedback following events and programmes. The feedback received was used to: - Shape the development and delivery of future programmes and workshops; - Improve accessibility, relevance, and inclusivity of events and resources; - Identify key areas of concern affecting Black students and professionals; - Develop new initiatives focused on wellbeing, employability, healing, and community support; - Strengthen partnerships and collaborative opportunities aligned with community needs. Stakeholder feedback highlighted the importance of safe and culturally informed spaces for honest discussion, practical career support, and holistic wellbeing resources. In response, Bounce Black continued to expand its trauma-informed and community-centred approach across its activities and programming.
The director, Adenike, facilitated one workshop during the year and received a one-off fee of £150. This has been disclosed in the company accounts and recorded under cost of sales. There were no other transactions or arrangements in connection with the remuneration of directors, or compensation for director’s loss of office, which require to be disclosed.
