Wye Dean Wellbeing (WDW) provide a range of non-opiate drug & alcohol, mental health and wellbeing services within the predominantly rural Forest of Dean. Our Haven project is providing free treatment to young people struggling with ketamine cocaine and cannabis use. We are so proud of the many people on our treatment pathways who are reaching meaningful milestones, achieving abstinence, engaging with counselling, and rediscovering positive activities and connections in their lives, and beginning to take part in social activities that felt out of reach not so long ago. Our successful alcohol dependence to abstinence treatment pathway continues to provide an alternative route to wellbeing. A weekly men’s group with walking and talking events has continued to grow and benefit from greater peer support. Working with the West Forest PCN we are providing menopause workshops. These workshops are designed to be informative, supportive, and interactive. Moving away from the "clinical" feel and focusing on empowering women with knowledge while addressing the social dynamics of menopause. Our digital offering, SeeMe offers an accessible and welcoming environment for all its members, a social space for members to share stories, make friends, and be digitally included. Providing a range of online and in-person activities, with our peer-led teams responsible for hosting events and activities, finding volunteering opportunities and shaping the community’s future.
Our stakeholders include our volunteers, the Integrated Care Board, the West Forest Primary Care Network, the Forest of Dean District Council, the Integrated Locality Partnership. WDW produce a quarterly stakeholder specific newsletter addressing any KPI’s, service results and changes. The feedback from this and our meetings keeps our service agile, lean and responsive. This has helped improve our processes, customer services and reduce costs.
