De Insomniis Theatre is a physical theatre company dedicated to platforming the voices of immigrant women and marginalised communities through innovative, community-driven performance. During the financial year 2024–2025, the company’s activities have benefited the community in the following ways: local residents (especially immigrant women and LGBTQ+ individuals) have had free or low-cost access to weekly physical theatre workshops that promote expression, confidence, and community connection. Sessions were held in accessible venues across London and open to all levels of experience. over 70% of participants in our rehearsal and performance process lived within a five-mile radius of the project venue, reducing the environmental and financial burden of travel and helping strengthen hyper-local cultural networks. De Insomniis Theatre provided paid freelance opportunities to 6 local creatives, including a director, musician, costume designer, and mental health facilitator, supporting artistic employment within the community. 5 emerging immigrant artists who had previously struggled to access mainstream theatre spaces were able to present original work or testimonies as part of our production *Diaspora Inferno: From My Grandmother’s Kitchen*, held at The Drayton Arms Theatre. 25 participants were connected to ongoing creative opportunities through our informal mentoring and referrals network, helping them access auditions, residencies, and other theatre companies focused on inclusive practice.
