During the financial year, Roch Valley Radio continued to deliver significant social value to the local community by providing a dedicated platform for local news, information, entertainment, and community engagement. The station worked closely with a wide range of community groups, charities, voluntary organisations, schools, and local businesses to promote community initiatives, raise awareness of local issues, and encourage public participation in community activities. Through interviews, outside broadcasts, event coverage, and regular programming, the station provided free publicity and support to organisations that may otherwise have limited access to local media. Roch Valley Radio also offered volunteering opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds, helping individuals develop valuable skills in broadcasting, media production, communications, and digital technology. These opportunities have supported personal development, increased confidence, and improved employability for volunteers within the local area. The station played an important role in promoting local culture, community events, and civic engagement, helping to strengthen community cohesion and foster a sense of local identity. By broadcasting relevant local information and providing a trusted source of community-focused content, Roch Valley Radio has continued to serve as an accessible and inclusive voice for the communities of Rochdale and the surrounding areas. The company remains committed to supporting local people, organisations, and initiatives, ensuring that its activities continue to deliver measurable community benefit and contribute positively to the social wellbeing of the area.
The company's stakeholders include listeners, volunteers, presenters, local community groups, charities, schools, local businesses, and partner organisations. Stakeholder feedback is gathered through regular engagement with listeners via email, social media, and community events, as well as through ongoing discussions with volunteers, presenters, and community organisations that work with the station. Feedback received during the year has helped inform programme content, community coverage, and the promotion of local events and initiatives. The company has continued to adapt its programming and community activities to reflect the interests and needs of local residents and community groups, ensuring that the station remains relevant, accessible, and beneficial to the communities it serves.
