In the space provided below, please insert a general account of the company’s activities in the financial year to which the report relates, including a description of how they have benefited the community. We have supported disabled and neurodivergent artist through 1:1 support and social groups and setting up an exhibition exclusively for disabled and neurodivergent artists that is due to be displayed summer 2026. This has supported artist development, and their visibility, alongside building confidence and creative skill. This has also reduced isolation and loneliness through our social groups as we work with many people who are housebound and furthest from community support. In summer of 2025, we received grant funding to buy adaptive art equipment that has supported the participation of disabled people in our community art sessions as we know physical ability shouldn’t be a barrier to participation. We have also run community arts groups that have had a positive impact on the community through social connection, and creative health and wellbeing support.
The companies stakeholders are disabled and neurodivergent creatives in Scotland, England and Wales. The company has been developed from the directors lived experience of disability/neurodivergence. All directors are disabled and some are neurodivergent which has supported the development of the business model and shaped how The Collective and its services look. Additionally, a questionnaire was shared to online local groups to Sheffield and online disability groups in the UK when developing our services. This was to consult disabled and/or neurodivergent creatives and carers. This questionnaire asked different questions about what service would be the most useful? What costs would be financially accessible for people? What type of support would artists need? Based on the questionnaire feedback, we have developed a new service to support artistic development for disabled/neurodivergent artists that is both beneficial and meaningful to their goals, wants and needs. We actively encourage feedback, particularly around accessibility, from those within the Collective. Our service adapts to this feedback and the needs of those within the Collective. From this feedback, we have added more online socials for individuals to connect, as this was seen as one of the most important opportunity to reduce loneliness and isolation.
