During the financial year, the Nigerian in Watford Association continued to promote community cohesion, cultural awareness, and social inclusion through a range of cultural, educational, and social activities. The Association provided opportunities for people of Nigerian heritage and the wider community to come together, celebrate cultural diversity, and build positive relationships. Through community events and gatherings, the Association helped foster a sense of belonging and encouraged active participation in local community life. The Association also supported the wellbeing of its members and local residents by providing a network of mutual support, information sharing, and community engagement. Its activities helped reduce social isolation, particularly among families, young people, and older members of the community, while promoting volunteering, cultural understanding, and stronger connections between diverse groups within Watford. Through these efforts, the Association made a positive contribution to the social and cultural wellbeing of the local community.
During the financial year, the Association maintained regular engagement with its stakeholders through meetings, community events, and ongoing communication with members. Members were consulted on the planning and delivery of activities, community priorities, and the future direction of the Association through regular meetings and discussions, ensuring that their views and needs were reflected in decision-making. The Association also engaged with external stakeholders, including the local authority, community organisations, and other Community Interest Companies (CICs) and voluntary groups with similar objectives. These consultations helped identify opportunities for collaboration, share best practice, and ensure that the Association's activities continued to meet the needs of the wider community while contributing positively to local community development initiatives.
