Over the past year, we have made significant progress in strengthening our engagement with the local community. Our Monday evening sessions have been particularly successful, with consistent attendance ranging between 60 and 80 children each week. We have delivered a range of structured sessions designed to broaden students’ knowledge and life skills, including financial literacy, water safety, and general health and wellbeing. These sessions have been well received and have contributed positively to the personal development of the young people involved. In addition to this, our programme has begun to create tangible pathways for future success. We are proud to report that a number of participants have secured opportunities within sporting academies, directly enhancing their long-term career prospects. Overall, the impact of our work has been highly positive, both in terms of engagement and outcomes, and we look forward to building on this success in the future.
At the end of each season, we actively seek feedback from our stakeholders and partner agencies to review the impact of our programme and identify areas for improvement. Overall, the feedback received has been very positive, with praise for the quality of sessions and the opportunities provided for young people. The main concern raised relates to the occasional cancellation of games due to adverse weather conditions. As a result, stakeholders have recommended that we explore the use of an all-purpose pitch to ensure greater consistency and minimise disruption to the programme. However, all weather pitches are considerably much more expensive, and without this solution, the weather is beyond our control.
