Company activities and impact

The company runs a series of accessible wellbeing activities to help children and their parents or carers find some regulation and access activities which would not otherwise be possible for them to access. The majority of our work has taken place in partnership with The Together Space which offer pop up events for families with and without additional needss to come to learn and play alongside cach other, helping ercate a more inclusive community. We have participated in their pop up events and holiday elubs. Within those accessing the events there are a range of needs, from Autism and Down syndrome to Profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD - those with medical as well as physical disabilities). There were many activities on offer for the autistic community but those with PMLD they require a more sensory sensitive space to be able to have the time to filter and process the information being presented to them and to be able to create a response in their own. often non verbal wav. 14 Together Space pop up event for families with and without children with additional needs, each event ranging from 75-100 attendees) Running sensory area, inviting children and parents to find regulation within their nervous system through breathwork, move their bodies and sound therapy. I Implementation of accessible communication aids throughout the event 2 Promoting inclusion through the provision of accessible tools such as easy to hold paintbrushes, and switch operated toys for those without the dexterity to access mainstream toys 3. Six Specialist topic workshops designed specifically for children with profound and multiple learning difficulties. 4. Turning on of the Christmas lights 5. 20 hours of free one to one voga with children with additional needs The company runs The Village Shop, a general store in The Village with a particular emphasis on selling locally produced food. The shop opened for business in August 2005. During the financial year 2006-2007, the shop's activities have benefited the community in the following ways: local residents (particularly those without access to cars and those with impaired mobility have been able to buy their groceries more conveniently, either by visiting the shop or by using its telephone order home delivery service: the number of "food miles" generated by producers and consumers of food in The Village has been reduced by about 15 per cent; the shop has provided full-time or part-time employment for 5 local residents; 8 small-scale local producers of various food and drink products, who were either dissatisfied with or unable to supply larger wholesalers or retailers have been able to sell their products through the shop; and 40 households have been supplied with regular or occasional domestic services through the shop's job-matching service.
