  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Turnover policy

    Turnover is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable, excluding discounts, rebates, value added tax and other sales taxes. Turnover from the sale of goods is recognised when goods have been delivered to customers such that risks and rewards of ownership have transferred to them. Turnover from the rendering of services is recognised by reference to the stage of completion of the contract. The stage of completion of a contract is measured by comparing the costs incurred for work performed to date to the total estimated contract costs.

    Tangible fixed assets depreciation policy

    Tangible assets are included at cost less depreciation and impairment. Depreciation has been provided at the following rates in order to write off the assets over their estimated useful lives: Computer equipment: 33.33% straight line method

    Other accounting policies

    Basis of preparation The accounts have been prepared under the historical cost convention as modified by the revaluation of certain fixed assets. Presentation currency The accounts are presented in £ sterling

Company activities and impact

The forge Cafe is a community focused project operation from the centre of Lutterworth at its local church, it enables young people with learning disabilities to learn employability skills alongside Independent living skills. The aim of the business to support their further development of confidence and self esteem whiles then gaining a learning environment which is pertinent to their progression. They are local young people who access the service and their parents and themselves are very pleased with our service. The cafe it attached to the church which also we have a mutual relationship with as they have a charitable arm which we provide catering for.

Consultation with stakeholders

Stake holders include those that use our service, their parents and carers. Those that we are in contact with at the cafe for example those who attend the cafe for drinks and cake.
