Company activities and impact

RADAR Festival CIC held its festival at O2 Victoria Warehouse, Manchester, from 4–6 July 2025, attracting approximately 2,000 attendees. During the financial year 5 September 2024 to 30 September 2025, the company's activities benefited the community in the following ways: Approximately 20 young people from a variety of backgrounds were given direct, hands-on experience of live music events production, working alongside industry professionals across the three-day festival. 18 emerging and developing artists were given a platform to perform to a public audience, supporting career development for acts who would otherwise have limited access to festival-scale opportunities. 9 subsidised masterclasses were delivered free of charge to young participants, covering areas including musicianship, events management, and music industry practice, in line with the company's founding commitment to remove financial barriers to entry. Approximately 80 staff and contractors were engaged across the event, providing employment and paid work within the sector. Free tickets were provided to NHS workers and others in recognition of community contribution, ensuring the event remained accessible beyond its primary commercial audience. The company's activities during this period directly reflect its core purpose: to mentor, connect, and open doors into the music industry for those who would otherwise find it difficult to access such opportunities. Two things to check: Were the 20 young people volunteers, work experience placements, or paid? Worth being specific. Were the masterclasses run in collaboration with any named educational or community organisations? If so, add them in, it strengthens the statement. Happy to adjust before you paste it in.

Consultation with stakeholders

RADAR Festival CIC's stakeholders include festival attendees, performing artists (with a particular focus on emerging and developing acts), and young people participating in the company's mentorship and masterclass programmes. Consultation was carried out through post-event feedback surveys issued to attendees, artists, and masterclass participants following the festival in July 2025. In response to feedback received, the company made the decision to make all masterclasses free of charge to participants. Having trialled the programme during the first year, feedback indicated that any cost attached to participation created a barrier to entry. This directly informed the company's policy going forward, in line with its founding commitment to remove financial obstacles for those seeking to develop careers in the music industry.
