Company activities and impact

During the financial year, Lauriann's STEM Club CIC delivered a range of educational and community focused activities designed to increase access to STEM learning for children and young people in Bexley and surrounding areas. The company's activities have benefited the community in the following ways: STEM learning access - Over 120 children aged 5 to 14 participated in weekly STEM workshops, gaining hands-on experience in science, technology, engineering and maths through experiments, coding and creative problem-solving activities. Support for disadvantaged families - Children from low income households accessed free or subsidised places, ensuring that financial barriers did not prevent participation in STEM education. Improved educational confidence - Feedback from parents and schools indicates that 72 percent of participating children showed increased confidence in STEM subjects, with several reporting improved school engagement and attainment. Community engagement events - The CIC delivered community STEM events attended by local residents. These events strengthened community cohesion. Partnerships with local schools - Collaborations with 4 local primary schools enabled the delivery of in-school STEM enrichment sessions, supporting teachers and enhancing the curriculum for over 500 pupils. Employment and training opportunities - The CIC provided part-time employment for local residents and offered volunteer placements for 5 young people interested in education, childcare or STEM fields. Promotion of digital inclusion - Through coding clubs and digital literacy sessions, the CIC helped children develop essential 21st century skills, reducing the digital skills gap within the community.
