AVEC Tax Credit Estimate
During the year, the company was engaged in the production of a qualifying independent film and has claimed the Audio-Visual Expenditure Credit (AVEC) under the UK government’s creative industry tax reliefs.
The key accounting estimate relates to the assessment of the value of qualifying expenditure in accordance with HMRC legislation and guidance, together with the assessment of whether the underlying production meets the eligibility criteria for the credit. The estimate is based on management’s judgement of qualifying costs incurred to date and the expected level of eligible expenditure over the course of the production.

Production Revenue
Production revenue represents funding received in connection with the development and production of the film. Revenue is recognised when the company becomes entitled to the funding and the associated conditions have been met, in accordance with FRS 102 Section 1A.
Where funding is provided to support specific production activities, revenue is recognised in line with the related expenditure incurred. Revenue is stated net of any amounts repayable and excluding VAT.

Deferred tax is measured using tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the period end and that are expected to apply to the reversal of the timing difference. |
