In this reporting period the company has continued to operate a significant recording schedule and has increased the number of unique and original shows broadcasted due to an enlarged presenter team. After purchasing some additional equipment in 2024 the company has now been able to provide outside broadcasts and has frequently supported local community events with outside broadcasts enabling the local community to further engage with the radio station. The outside broadcasts have been used to live stream seasonal church services to the local population. In addition to outside broadcasts the company continues to develop strong links with the local community with many presenters creating opportunities for local organisations and businesses to have a voice on the radio. Presenters have been active in creating programmes that focus on wellbeing and mindfulness and many presenters have provided opportunities for work experience students to learn about local radio. Our radio schedule is designed to be diverse including specific programming focused on women’s issues and regular religious programmes too. The music content is varied ranging from classic pop hits from the last 6 decades along with niche programmes enabling the listener to experience a wide variety of music not available on mainstream channels. Last year the company developed a second studio in their new premises which has become fully operational this year enabling presenters to prepare shows in advance and enables a back up facility in case of technical failures in the main studio. The company continues to have representation at local community and business events and representatives regulary attend the Chamber of Commerce meetings.
Stakeholders of this CIC include listeners, presenters, support personnel, advertisers, and representatives of local community organisations, the local authority and the town council. All presenters and support personnel at the station are volunteers who engage with the station via social media. Listeners engage with the station through social media and are also encouraged to engage in ‘phone in’s’, pre-recorded interviews and being interview live on air. Many of our presenters have long established social networks in the town and are able to use these to add value to the listener experience.
