Oriental Chinese Community, based in Colindale, was established to support and benefit all individuals of Chinese ethnic origin residing in the UK, regardless of their place of origin, beliefs, or age. During the period under review, the centre provided a wide range of opportunities of community members to connect and build friendships through participation in various physical and cultural activities. These included table tennis, cooking classes, dance classes, kung fu sessions, Pilates, and yoga classes. In addition to regular activities, the community also organised occasional events such as day trips, holiday gatherings, and celebrations of traditional festivals including the Dragon Boat Festival and Chinese New Year. Gifts and souvenirs were distributed to elderly members during these occasions. The community has no paid employees. All activities and events were organised and run by dedicated volunteers. Looking ahead, the directors are considering converting the Community Interest Company (C.I.C.) into a charity to further its mission and expand its impact.
The company's stakeholders include residents and visitors to the Oriental Chinese Community Centre within the Greater London area. All of the events mentioned above were planned and organised by the company's directors. During the period under review, these activities were developed in consultation with community members to ensure that they met the needs and interests of participants.
