Since the start of the CIC, Saving lives with bleed kits has installed 260 bleed kits and 13 of these bleed kits have been used on members of the public with at least 3 of these being used for fatal stabbings and saved the injured persons life. A Majority of the bleed kits are in Defibrillator cabinets which have 24 hour access, all bleed kits are registered with the local ambulance service who have all codes for those in cabinets or hours that the kit is avaliable. The public have access to the bleed kits once they have called 999 who will then give them the code of the nearest bleed kit that is avaliable. Once the bleed kit has been accessed then we are emailed to replenish the kit to make it emergency ready again. By installing these bleed kits we have saved 13 members of the public from bleeding, some of which could of ended up as a fatality.
