This report is made solely to the Board of Directors of Scotish Van Centre Ltd, as a body, in accordance with the terms of our engagement letter dated 31 May 2025. Our work has been undertaken solely to prepare for your approval the accounts of Scotish Van Centre Ltd and state those matters that we have agreed to state to the Board of Directors of Scotish Van Centre Ltd, as a body, in this report in accordance with the requirements of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland as detailed at https://www.icas.com/professional-resources/practice/support-and-guidance/framework-for-the-preparation-of-accounts-revised-june-2020. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we do not accept or assume responsibility to anyone other than Scotish Van Centre Ltd and its Board of Directors as a body for our work or for this report.

For the period ending 31 March 2025 the company was entitled to exemption from audit under section 477 of the Companies Act 2006 relating to small companies. The members have not required the company to obtain an audit in accordance with section 476 of the Companies Act 2006.
The directors acknowledge their responsibilities for complying with the requirements of the Act with respect to accounting records and the preparation of accounts.
These accounts have been prepared and delivered in accordance with the provisions applicable to companies subject to the small companies' regime and in accordance with the provisions of FRS 102 Section 1A - Small Entities. The profit and loss account has not been delivered to the Registrar of Companies.

Compliance with accounting standards
The accounts have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of FRS 102 Section 1A Small Entities. There were no material departures from that standard.
The principal accounting policies adopted in the preparation of the financial statements are set out below and have been consistently applied within the same accounts.
The accounts have been prepared under the historical cost convention as modified by the revaluation of certain fixed assets.
The accounts are presented in £ sterling.
Tangible fixed assets and depreciation
Tangible assets are included at cost less depreciation and impairment. Depreciation has been provided at the following rates in order to write off the assets over their estimated useful lives:

Turnover is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable, excluding discounts, rebates, value added tax and other sales taxes. Turnover from the sale of goods is recognised when goods have been delivered to customers such that risks and rewards of ownership have transferred to them. Turnover from the rendering of services is recognised by reference to the stage of completion of the contract. The stage of completion of a contract is measured by comparing the costs incurred for work performed to date to the total estimated contract costs.
Inventories are stated at the lower of cost and net realisable value. Cost comprises the purchase price of motor vehicles and any directly attributable costs incurred in bringing them to their present location and condition. Net realisable value represents the estimated selling price less all estimated costs of completion and costs necessary to make the sale.
The carrying amount of inventories at the year end was £335,604
No write downs of inventories to net realisable value were recognised during the year.

Tangible fixed assets
Fixtures & fittings
Stock is stated at the lower of cost and estimated selling price less costs to complete and sell. Cost comprises the purchase price of vehicles and all directly attributable expenditure necessary to bring the vehicles into their present location and condition.
At each reporting date, stock is assessed for impairment. Where the estimated selling price, less costs to sell, is lower than cost, a provision is made for the difference.
Part exchange vehicles are recognised as stock at their fair value at the date of acquisition.
