General Description of the Company's Activities and Impact During the financial year, the company focused on the start-up and development of Roam Community Cafe CIC, including fundraising for start-up costs, securing premises, purchasing equipment, developing partnerships, and establishing operations for a community-focused family cafe and play space in SE11. These activities benefited the local community by creating an accessible, inclusive space aimed at reducing social isolation, supporting families with young children, and providing affordable opportunities for play, connection and community engagement.
Consultations with Stakeholders Stakeholders during the financial year included local families, Lambeth-based community organisations, funders, volunteers and prospective service users. Consultation took place through informal discussions with local parents and carers, conversations with community organisations, and engagement with volunteers during the development of the project. Feedback informed the proposed pricing structure and session offer to help ensure affordability and accessibility for local families. Discussions with local organisations also helped shape plans for a free referral scheme for families experiencing financial hardship. Community members were additionally involved in the renovation and preparation of the space through volunteering opportunities.
No remuneration was received by the directors in their capacity as directors. However, two directors were employed by the company as members of cafe staff and received payment for operational work carried out on behalf of the company
No transfer of assets other than for full consideration
