Striving for Inclusion CIC benefited the community during the financial year by providing inclusive education, cultural identity and family-support activities for children, young people, parents and carers. The company supported families from diverse cultural backgrounds, children and young people with SEND, and those facing social or educational barriers. Activities included SEND-friendly reading and learning sessions, educational games, creative workshops, parent-support sessions and community engagement activities. These helped children and young people build confidence, improve literacy and social skills, develop a stronger sense of identity and belonging, and participate in a supportive learning environment. Parents and carers benefited from practical support, shared learning and safe spaces to discuss family challenges, neurodiversity, cultural differences and children’s development. The wider community benefited through improved inclusion, reduced isolation, stronger family networks and greater awareness of SEND, diversity and cultural identity.
The company consulted with stakeholders through regular engagement with children, young people, parents, carers, volunteers, educators, community partners and supporters. Consultation took place through informal feedback during sessions, conversations with families, discussions with volunteers and facilitators, and engagement through community activities, newsletters and online communication. Feedback received helped the company identify the need for accessible SEND-friendly activities, culturally responsive learning resources, parent-support spaces and activities that promote confidence, wellbeing and inclusion. This feedback was used to shape the company’s programmes and ensure that its activities remained relevant to the needs of the community.
