For the period ending 31 December 2025 the company was entitled to exemption from audit under section 477 of the Companies Act 2006 relating to small companies.
The members have not required the company to obtain an audit in accordance with section 476 of the Companies Act 2006.
The directors acknowledge their responsibilities for complying with the requirements of the Act with respect to accounting records and the preparation of accounts.
These accounts have been prepared and delivered in accordance with the provisions applicable to companies subject to the small companies regime.
The company has taken advantage of section 444(1) of the Companies Act 2006 and opted not to deliver to the registrar a copy of the company's Profit and Loss Account.

Notes to the Financial Statements
1. General Information
John Gargan Limited is a private company, limited by shares, incorporated in England & Wales, registered number 08641045 . The registered office is 67 Fordwich Rise, Hertford, Hertfordshire, SG14 2BW.
2. Accounting Policies
2.1. Basis of Preparation of Financial Statements
The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention and in accordance with Financial Reporting Standard 102 section 1A Small Entities "The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland" and the Companies Act 2006.
The financial statements have been modified where necessary to reflect that the financial statements have not been prepared on the going concern basis.
2.2. Going Concern Disclosure
The company ceased trading on 31 December 2025 and the directors do not intend that the company will recommence trading. Accordingly, the directors have concluded that the going concern basis of accounting is not appropriate. The financial statements have therefore been prepared on a basis other that a going concern basis.
In preparing the financial statements, the directors have reviewed the carrying values of the company's assets and liabilities. Assets have been reviewed and written down to estimated recoverable or net realisable values where appropriate. Liabilities have been stated at the amounts expected to be settled.
No provision has been made for future costs of closing down the company unless the company had a present obligation at the balance sheet date.
2.3. Turnover
Turnover is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable, net of discounts and value added taxes. Turnover includes revenue earned from the rendering of services.
2.4. Tangible Fixed Assets and Depreciation
Tangible fixed assets are measured at cost less accumulated depreciation and any accumulated impairment losses.
As the company ceased trading on 31 December 2025, tangible fixed assets have been reviewed for impairment and written down to their estimated recoverable or net realisable amounts where these are lower than carrying value.
Where assets were sold after the balance sheet date, the directors have considered the sales proceeds as evidence of the recoverable value of those assets at 31 December 2025, where appropriate.
Depreciation is provided at rates calculated to write off the cost of the fixed assets, less their estimated residual value, over their expected useful lives on the following bases:

Trade and other debtors are recognised at the amount expected to be recovered.
As the company ceased to trading on 31 December 2025, the directors have reviewed the recoverability of all debtor balances. Specific provision has been made for amounts considered irrecoverable.
Cash received after the balance sheet date has been considered as evidence of recoverability at 31 December 2025, where appropriate.

The company has ceased trading and has insufficient assets to repay the director's loan in full. However, the balance remains legally payable and has therefore continued to be recognised as a creditor at the reporting date.

8. Dividends
No dividends were declared or paid during the period. No further dividends were proposed before the financial statements were approved.
9. Post Balance Sheet Events
After the balance sheet date, the company continued to collect debtors, settle creditors and realise remaining assets as part of the cessation of trade.
After the balance sheet date:
  • Trade debtors of £1,338 were collected;
  • Tangible fixed assets were disposed of for nil proceeds.
These events have been considered by the directors in assessing the recoverability of assets and the settlement valur of liabilities at 31 December 2025, where they provide evidence of conditions existing at the balance sheet date.
The directors intend to settle the remaning liabilities and apply for the company to be struck off.
10. Additional Note to the Accounts
In preparing these financial statements, the directors have made judgements and estimates in relation to the recoverability of debtors, the recoverable value of tangible fixed assets and the amounts at which liabilities are expected to be settled.
The directors have considered information available up to the date of approval of the financial statements, including post-period-end receipts, payments and asset disposals, where that information provides evidence of conditions existing at 31 December 2025.
