Bude Community First Responders are a team of highly-trained local volunteers who respond to life-threatening 999 calls on behalf of the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust. Because they live and work in the Bude area, they can arrive quickly to provide basic life support and critical care before an ambulance reaches the scene. Volunteers are dispatched to emergencies ranging from cardiac arrests and chest pain to strokes and breathing difficulties. They are equipped with vital independent kits, including AEDs and Oxygen. The Bude group operates entirely as a charity, relying heavily on donations from the community, local organizations, and charities.
