During the financial year, CAMDER FC CIC continued to make a positive impact across Derby by bringing people together through football, wellbeing initiatives, and community engagement. Our weekly Sunday football sessions at Alvaston Park welcomed between 60 and 80 participants, creating a safe and inclusive environment where people from different ethnic, cultural, and professional backgrounds could connect, build friendships, and support one another. Our activities have helped reduce social isolation, improved mental and physical wellbeing, and strengthened community cohesion. By encouraging regular participation in sport and shared social activities, we have created a sense of belonging for many individuals and their families, while promoting the values of respect, inclusion, and mutual support. In addition to our weekly sessions, we organised community empowerment events, workshops, and family activities in partnership with organisations including Community Action Derby, Derby Homes, and other local community partners. These collaborations have enabled us to reach more residents, raise awareness of wellbeing and community issues, and provide opportunities for learning, volunteering, and personal development. We are proud that our work has been recognised beyond our organisation. During the year, CAMDER FC CIC was nominated for both the BBC Community Awards and the Community Action Derby Community Awards, reflecting the positive contribution we continue to make to the local community. Through all of our activities, CAMDER FC CIC has remained committed to its mission of building stronger, healthier, and more connected communities by using football as a powerful tool for friendship, inclusion, and social change.
