Compliance with accounting standards
The accounts have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of FRS 102 Section 1A Small Entities. There were no material departures from that standard.
The principal accounting policies adopted in the preparation of the financial statements are set out below and have been consistently applied within the same accounts.
The accounts have been prepared under the historical cost convention as modified by the revaluation of certain fixed assets.
The accounts are presented in £ sterling.
Tangible fixed assets and depreciation
Tangible assets are included at cost less depreciation and impairment. Depreciation has been provided at the following rates in order to write off the assets over their estimated useful lives:
Plant & machinery
Over 10years
Motor vehicles
Over 10 years
Computer equipment
Over 5 years
Included within prepayments is an amount of £2,000,000 paid in advance to a machinery supplier in respect of manufacturing equipment. The equipment had not been delivered or commissioned at the balance sheet date and therefore has not been recognised within tangible fixed assets. Delivery and installation took place after the year end.
The financial statements have been prepared on a going concern basis.
During the year the company incurred a loss as it was in the process of establishing its manufacturing operations and had not yet commenced trading activities. Significant expenditure was incurred in relation to premises, staffing, consultancy and the acquisition of manufacturing equipment.
The directors have provided financial support to the company through long-term loan funding and have confirmed that repayment of these loans will not be required within the next twelve months.
The company has invested substantially in manufacturing equipment which was delivered and commissioned after the year end, and the directors expect trading activities to commence during the following financial year.
Having reviewed forecasts and available funding, the directors are satisfied that the company has adequate resources to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. Accordingly, the financial statements have been prepared on a going concern basis.
