  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Tangible fixed assets depreciation policy

    Tangible assets are included at cost less depreciation and impairment. Depreciation has been provided at the following rates in order to write off the assets over their estimated useful lives: Plant & machinery - 3 years straight line Motor vehicles - 5 years straight line Computer equipment - 3 years straight line

    Other accounting policies

    Basis of preparation: The accounts have been prepared under the historical cost convention as modified by the revaluation of certain fixed assets. Presentation currency: The accounts are presented in £ sterling.

Company activities and impact

FLOW CIC has continued to provide an interface between local communities and regulatory bodies / eNGOs relating to river health. We have done this by: - Supporting community groups with Bathing Water applications, with a new application in Salisbury. - Supporting landowners and community members with citizen science water quality testing. - Support a local community owned nature reserve (Broken Bridges) in Salisbury that river habitat management plans. We have been working to secure funding for a full time post to offer more, particularly around citizen science monitoring. In this period, all activities were funded through profits derived from commercial activity.

The aggregate amount of emoluments paid to or receivable by directors in respect of qualifying services was £97,821. There were no other transactions or arrangements in connection with the renumeration of directors, or compensation for director’s loss of office, which require to be disclosed.
