  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Turnover policy

    Turnover is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable, excluding discounts, rebates, value added tax and other sales taxes. Turnover from the sale of goods is recognised when goods have been delivered to customers such that risks and rewards of ownership have transferred to them. Turnover from the rendering of services is recognised by reference to the stage of completion of the contract. The stage of completion of a contract is measured by comparing the costs incurred for work performed to date to the total estimated contract costs.

    Tangible fixed assets depreciation policy

    Tangible assets are included at cost less depreciation and impairment. Depreciation has been provided at the following rates in order to write off the assets over their estimated useful lives: P&M 5yr

Company activities and impact

Our photographic features for language equity for people who have Down’s syndrome continue to be shared and we call attention to the continued negative bias experienced by the Down’s syndrome community. We continue to distribute our resource ‘MORE THAN MEDICAL’ to hospitals, expectant and new parents to inform what life is really like for people with Down’s syndrome and their families. This resource continues to assist expectant parents making decisions about their genetic testing options, and may ultimately impact pregnancy outcomes. This resources is endorsed by the Down’s Syndrome Association and Down syndrome Ireland.

Consultation with stakeholders

Our stakeholders are individuals with Down’s syndrome, their families, communities, medical and service professionals, healthcare staff, students, and the public. We consult with our stakeholders through discussion and continually analyse comments and feedback through our social media channels to improve content and delivery of resources.
