  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Turnover policy

    Turnover represents commission and fee income earned from mortgage origination and related services and is recognised at the point the service is performed, typically when the mortgage completes or the related service is delivered. Revenue is measured at the fair value of consideration received or receivable, net of VAT and expected refunds.

    Tangible fixed assets depreciation policy

    Your accounting policies include a Tangible fixed assets section with an explicit depreciation policy: Assets depreciated over useful lives Example: Computers - 3 years straight line

    Other accounting policies

    The financial statements are prepared under the historical cost convention in accordance with FRS 102 and the Companies Act 2006 applicable to the small companies regime. The following principal accounting policies are applied: Financial instruments are recognised when the Company becomes party to the contractual provisions and are measured at amortised cost unless otherwise stated. Current tax is provided on taxable profits at enacted rates, and deferred tax is recognised on timing differences where recovery is probable. Employee benefits, including wages, salaries and pension costs, are recognised in the period in which services are provided. Provisions are recognised where there is a present obligation arising from a past event and a reliable estimate can be made. Foreign currency transactions are translated at the exchange rate ruling at the transaction date, with monetary balances retranslated at the period end rate. Research and development expenditure is recognised as an expense in the period incurred.
