**The company’s activities and impact** Hartlepool Sport CIC exists to support a culture of excellence, active lifestyles, a love of learning, and community service. During the period October 2024 to September 2025, the company delivered a wide range of sport, physical activity, youth development, community engagement and place-based programmes that benefited residents across Hartlepool. The organisation worked with children, young people, families, adults, older people, schools, community groups, sports clubs, voluntary organisations and public sector partners to increase participation in physical activity, strengthen community connections and improve health and wellbeing outcomes. Key areas of impact included: * Delivering community sport and physical activity programmes across multiple neighbourhoods, with a particular focus on areas experiencing higher levels of deprivation and health inequality. * Coordinating and supporting the borough-wide Early Years Physical Literacy Network, helping childcare providers and practitioners improve opportunities for young children to develop movement skills, confidence and healthy habits. * Establishing and delivering the Young People’s Support Programme (YPSP), providing targeted support, mentoring, positive activities and diversionary opportunities for young people facing barriers to engagement. * Supporting local sports clubs, community organisations and volunteers through networking, training, partnership development and capacity-building activity. * Delivering holiday activities, community events and neighbourhood-based programmes that increased opportunities for residents to be active, connect with others and access local services. * Supporting strategic place-based initiatives, including work linked to Sport England Place Expansion, helping to shape community-led approaches to improving health, wellbeing and neighbourhood pride. * Working with schools and education providers to promote physical activity, leadership, volunteering and personal development opportunities for children and young people. * Providing opportunities for volunteering, youth leadership and social action, enabling residents to develop skills, confidence and experience while contributing positively to their communities. Throughout the year, the company continued to strengthen partnerships across the voluntary, community, public and private sectors. This collaborative approach enabled resources to be aligned more effectively, reduced duplication of effort and increased the reach and impact of local services. The overall benefit to the community has been increased opportunities for people of all ages to be active, improved social connections, enhanced community capacity, greater youth engagement, and stronger local partnerships working towards healthier, more resilient and more connected neighbourhoods across Hartlepool.
Yes. Throughout the year Hartlepool Sport CIC actively engaged with a wide range of stakeholders to understand local needs, shape programmes and inform organisational priorities. Stakeholders included children and young people, parents and carers, sports clubs, schools, early years providers, community organisations, volunteers, residents, local businesses, funders and statutory partners. Consultation took place through formal and informal mechanisms including: Regular partnership meetings and networks, including the Early Years Physical Literacy Network, sports club forums and thematic partnership groups. Feedback gathered from participants, parents, volunteers and delivery partners through surveys, conversations and programme evaluations. Community engagement activities linked to neighbourhood-based programmes and place-based initiatives. Ongoing discussions with schools, childcare providers and community organisations to identify emerging needs and opportunities. Youth voice and youth leadership activities which enabled young people to influence programme design and delivery. Participation in wider strategic consultations and engagement exercises across Hartlepool relating to health, wellbeing, physical activity, community development and neighbourhood improvement. Feedback gathered through these processes informed programme development, funding priorities, partnership working and the targeting of resources. The company remains committed to ensuring that community insight and lived experience continue to shape its activities and future direction.
