Basis of preparation of financial statements
|
The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention unless otherwise specified within these accounting policies and in accordance with FRS 102 'The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and the Republic of Ireland' and the requirements of the Companies Act 2006. The disclosure requirements of Section 1A of FRS 102 have been applied other than where additional disclosure is required to show a true and fair view.
The preparation of financial statements in compliance with FRS 102 requires the use of certain critical accounting estimates. It also requires management to exercise judgment in applying the Company's accounting policies (see note 3).
The presentational and functional currency of these financial statements is British Pound Sterling (GBP). All values are rounded to the nearest pound.
The following principal accounting policies have been applied:
At the Statement of Financial Position date, the Company had net liabilities of £132,349 (2024: £132,349). The Company’s ability to continue as a going concern is therefore dependent on the continued financial support of its immediate parent undertaking, i2O Water Ltd, a company incorporated in England and Wales.
At the Statement of Financial Position date, the group headed by i2O Water Ltd (the “Group”) continues to operate within a wider group structure with access to ongoing support. While the Group’s financial position has reduced compared to the prior year, it continues to operate within a wider group structure and has access to ongoing financial support.
The ultimate parent undertaking, Mueller Water Products Inc., has confirmed its intention to provide continued financial support to the Group for a period of at least 12 months from the date of approval of these financial statements. This support includes the provision of funding, where required, and continued operational backing to enable the Group, and therefore the Company, to meet their liabilities as they fall due.
In forming their conclusion, the directors have also considered the expected trading performance and cash flow forecasts of the Company and the wider Group. Based on this assessment, together with the confirmed support from the ultimate parent undertaking, the directors are satisfied that adequate resources are available to enable the Company to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future.
Accordingly, the directors have adopted the going concern basis in preparing these financial statements.

Exemption from preparing consolidated financial statements
|
The Company is a parent company that is also a subsidiary included in the consolidated financial statements of a larger group by a parent undertaking established under the law of any part of the United Kingdom and is therefore exempt from the requirement to prepare consolidated financial statements under section 400 of the Companies Act 2006.
