The Association of Zimbabwean Pharmacists Abroad CIC (AZPA CIC) exists to advance healthcare and support the professional development of Zimbabwean pharmacists living and practising abroad while promoting improvements in pharmacy practice and health outcomes in Zimbabwe. The organisation provides a professional network for members, facilitates knowledge sharing, continuing professional development, mentoring and collaboration among pharmacists in the United Kingdom and internationally. The CIC delivers community benefit by organising educational events, professional networking opportunities and health promotion initiatives. It also supports members and their families through welfare activities, including providing financial assistance during bereavement and other times of hardship, thereby strengthening community cohesion and social wellbeing. During the year, the organisation continued to use members' subscriptions and voluntary contributions to deliver its community interest objectives. Funds were applied towards member welfare, community engagement activities, educational programmes and social events that promote the wellbeing of members and the wider Zimbabwean diaspora while reinforcing professional excellence within the pharmacy profession. These activities generated a positive social impact by fostering mutual support, enhancing professional collaboration, promoting lifelong learning and contributing to improved health awareness within the communities served.
The Association of Zimbabwean Pharmacists Abroad CIC actively engages with its stakeholders to ensure that its activities continue to meet the needs of its members and the wider community. Stakeholder consultation takes place through Annual General Meetings, committee meetings, member surveys, social media platforms and regular communication via email and messaging groups. Feedback from members is used to inform the planning of professional development programmes, welfare initiatives, community events and charitable activities. The organisation also engages with healthcare professionals, partner organisations and the Zimbabwean diaspora to identify opportunities for collaboration and to ensure that its activities continue to deliver meaningful community benefit. The directors regularly review stakeholder feedback when making strategic and operational decisions, ensuring that the organisation remains responsive to the evolving needs of its members and continues to fulfil its community interest objectives.
