Company activities and impact

The activities of I AM GOING FAR WITH MILES PR C.I.C. have been few in recent years. Formed to uplift the lives of children, families and lone persons in the deprived areas of Gorton and Moss Side, Manchester, the vision was to recruit multi-talented, qualified and vetted Afro-Caribbean people of moral and cultural integrity, as our board members, staff, tutors, workshop leaders, mentors, and volunteers. From a business premises, we had hoped to secure and make our headquarters, where we would have run our brand of culturally authentic community workshops and services. Addressing concerns of the people in the area and life in general, the themes of our projects would have been to help reduce knife crime, drug addiction, identity crisis, and bullying in schools, while also offering tutoring assistance to home-educated children. Welcoming collaborations and partnerships with neighbourhood teams, families, community groups, schools and the police, we would also have addressed the underrepresentation of black positive role models by being those positive role models delivering solutions and motivation. Our affordably priced assemblies, workshops, events and group classes, whether free or subsidised, would have brought elevation and value on so many levels. All profits would have been reinvested, enabling our sustainability. However, the lack of funding and support brings us to close this C.I.C. in 2026.
