Doubtful debts:

Turnover
Revenue represents the fair value of consideration received or receivable for the sale of onions, net of discounts, rebates and value added tax.
Revenue from the sale of onions is recognised when control of the produce has passed to the customer, which is typically when the customer has accepted the onions based on their quality and weight in accordance with the agreed terms of sale, and when:
the amount of revenue can be measured reliably;
(i) it is probable that the economic benefits will flow to the Company; and
(ii) the costs incurred or to be incurred in respect of the transaction can be measured reliably.
Judgement is applied in determining the timing of transfer of control and in estimating any variable consideration, including rebates where applicable.
Tangible fixed assets
| Plant and machinery etc | - |
Stocks
Stocks comprise produce held for resale and are valued at the lower of cost and estimated selling price less costs to complete and sell. Cost includes the purchase price of produce and directly attributable grading and transportation costs incurred in bringing the stock to its present location and condition. Cost is determined on a first-in, first-out basis, which management considers appropriate given the perishable nature of the produce and the expected physical flow of stock.
