| Basis of preparing the financial statements |
| The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention |
| The company prepares its accounts on a 52 week basis each year. In accordance with Section 390 of the Companies Act 2006, the financial statements for the year ended 31 December 2025 have been prepared to 27 December 2025, being within seven days of the accounting reference date. |
| Going concern |
| The financial statements have been prepared on a going concern basis. The directors have assessed the Company's ability to continue as a going concern for a period of at least twelve months from the date of approval of these financial statements. In making this assessment, the directors have considered the Company's profitability, its working capital position and cash resources at the reporting date, together with other information available up to the date of approval. The directors consider that the use of the going concern basis of accounting is appropriate. |
| Critical accounting judgements and key sources of estimation uncertainty |
| Doubtful debts: |
| When assessing impairment of trade debtors, management considers factors including the current credit worthiness of the debtor, the ageing profile of the debt and historical experience regarding payment history.The board of directors then uses judgement to consider and establish if the recognition of a doubtful debt provision is warranted. |
| Valuation of stock: |
| Management uses judgement in assessing whether stock is stated at the lower of cost and net realisable value, taking into account the condition, age and expected selling price of the stock held at the reporting data. |
| Turnover |
| Revenue from the sale of potatoes and seed potatoes is recognised when the company has transferred the significant risks and rewards of ownership to the buyer, retains neither a continuing managerial involvement nor effective control over the goods sold, the amount of revenue can be measured reliably, it is probable that the economic benefits associated with the transaction will flow to the company, and the costs incurred or to be incurred in respect of the transaction can be measured reliably. |

| Stocks are valued at the lower of cost and net realisable value, after making due allowance for obsolete and slow moving items. |
| Financial instruments |
| Financial instruments are classified and accounted for, according to the substance of the contractual arrangement, as either financial assets or financial liabilities or equity instruments. |
| Basic financial assets: |
| Basic financial assets, including trade and other debtors, cash at bank and in hand, are initially recognised at transaction price, including transaction costs, and are subsequently measured at amortised cost using the effective interest rate method, unless the arrangement constitutes a financing transaction, the asset is measured at the present value of the future receipts discounted at a market rate of interest. Financial assets receivable within one year are not discounted. |

| Taxation |
| Taxation for the period comprises current and deferred tax. Tax is recognised in the Profit and loss account, except to the extent that it relates to items recognised in other comprehensive income or directly in equity. |

| Deferred tax |

The company also made purchases from Elveden Farms Limited of £7,981,130 (2024: £8,548,173). These transactions are at arm's length. |
