Dance & Dementia C.I.C. provides Dance Movement Psychotherapy and related therapeutic dance and movement opportunities for people affected by dementia, including family carers. The company also provides training and workshop opportunities for professionals and volunteers working with people affected by dementia to promote the use of dance and movement in care settings and provide staff with new skills to benefit their clients. During the financial year 2024-2025, there was no activity. The Director has been taking time to review previous activities and plan towards the future direction of the company. Stakeholders Dance & Dementia C.I.C. considers its stakeholders to be the people with dementia and family who take part in the sessions we provide; our freelance therapists; the staff and managers of the care and hospital settings where our sessions take place; and the staff and volunteers who attend our workshops and training events. Dance and Dementia C.I.C. takes feedback from its stakeholders seriously, they are at the heart of everything we do. As a company we actively look for opportunities to include our stakeholders. Following sessions our therapists are encouraged to ‘check in’ with staff at the venue where the session has taken place. This provides an opportunity for feedback. Our therapists are trained in movement analysis and have keen observational skills, allowing them to see how clients are responding to the sessions and to adapt and tailor them accordingly. Clients are also engaged in making suggestions for the session content, for example by offering their musical preferences. Dance and Dementia C.I.C. send emails to care setting organisers and managers asking how sessions are going and allowing further opportunity for feedback. This allows for any concerns or suggestions to be raised. So far feedback has all been positive. Staff attending workshop events are provided with feedback forms by us or the organisation commissioning training so that we can evaluate and improve training content.
