Additional information
The directors are responsible for preparing the report and accounts in accordance with applicable law and regulations. Company law requires the directors to prepare accounts for each financial year. Under that law, the directors have elected to prepare the accounts in accordance with United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice (United Kingdom Accounting Standards and applicable law). Under company law the directors must not approve the accounts unless they are satisfied that they give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the company and of the profit or loss ofthe company for that period. In preparing these accounts, the directors are required to: - select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently; - make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent; - prepare the accounts on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the company will continue in business. The directors are responsible for keeping adequate accounting records that are sufficient to show and explain the company's transactions and disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the company and enable them to ensure that the accounts comply with the Companies Act 2006. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the company and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities. This year the company's activities have benefitted the community by providing high quality, accessible creative activities, with a focus on areas of socio-economic or rural deprivation. Chasing Christmas: Filament were commissioned by Appetite Stoke to create a high-quality Christmas offering for the local community in Middleport. Chasing Christmas was connected to our previous production in Middleport, Operation Global Cheer. The project included a rehearsal period, followed by two days of performances at St Luke's church in Dalehill and was delivered in partnership with Middleport Matters. Tickets to the performance were offered free of charge, to ensure they were accessible to the local community, Burslem is an area of socio-economic deprivation, and performances included a BSL-signed performance. FND Transitions: Work continued on the Forgotten News Desk Transitions project aimed at Year 6 primary school children, aimed at creating resource that support children's move between primary and secondary school. Work in Year End 2025 included the delivery of a workshop at Goostrey Community Primary School, a small rural community primary school. This artist-led workshop enabled us to test the time capsule materials that had previously been developed in partnership with Dee Point Primary School. Following the workshop, further revisions of the materials were made, this work will continue into 2026. "I really enjoyed this workshop, especially when the time capsule was found, I was very intrigued.... My favourite part was writing a story to ourselves about the future and I can't wait to read it back to myself in the years to come." Participant feedback.
Our Stakeholders are our funders, audiences, board members and the creatives we work with. These reports/meetings have not elicited any additional concerns or comments from funders. Audiences - Feedback was collected from audiences and workshop attendees, including young people, teachers, and caregivers to assess their experiences of the activities. Feedback was extremely positive, for all projects. Board Members - The board are updated via regular email updates and board meetings. The board have been very supportive of the work carried out, and the future plans. Creatives - Throughout projects an ongoing dialogue is maintained with creatives to ensure projects run smoothly.
