Dark Yellow Dot is dedicated to supporting new and emerging visual artists and creative beginners. Throughout the past financial year, we continued our focus on providing opportunities and resources that directly benefit the artist community, ensuring that art remains accessible and supported at every level. Key activities during the year included: - Collaborating with various venues to showcase emerging artists’ work outside traditional gallery spaces, enhancing visibility and accessibility. -Organising exhibitions and online publications that have allowed over 40 artists to present their work, many for the first time, and helping them sell their artwork. The impact of our activities on the community has been significant: -We have supported hundreds of artists in growing and developing their practices, contributing to their CV experience and portfolio development, providing essential experience and exposure. - Our initiatives have brought art to local communities, encouraging engagement and appreciation for the arts, though exhibitions, workshops, artist talks and resources. -Our recent achievements, including the Black Women in Art programme at Somerset House and various awards, have underscored our commitment to fostering artistic talent. This year, our efforts have not only supported individual artists but have also contributed to the cultural vibrancy of the community, promoting a deeper appreciation for the arts.
The stakeholders of Dark Yellow Dot include local artists, community members, and the venues where we exhibit our work. Our commitment to fostering a vibrant artistic community means that we actively engage with these stakeholders to understand their needs and feedback. We consult with our stakeholders in several ways: -Regularly engaging with artists during our exhibitions and events, allowing them to share their experiences and suggestions. -Gathering feedback through informal discussions and testimonial requests after exhibitions and QR codes at our three venues partners across London. -Utilising our online platforms to reach a broader audience, encouraging community members to share their thoughts on our events and the types of art they would like to see through surveys and social media comments and interactions. In response to stakeholder feedback, we have: -Adapted our exhibition programming to include a wider variety of art forms and styles ensuring we cater to diverse tastes and preferences. -Increased opportunities for emerging artists to showcase their work, based on requests for more visibility and sales channels. -Enhanced our online resources and growing social media presence, making it easier for artists to connect with us and for community members to engage with our offerings. -Strengthened partnerships with the venues to create more accessible and engaging art events
