Deferred tax
Deferred tax is recognised in respect of all timing differences that have originated but not reversed at the balance sheet date.
Timing differences arise from the inclusion of income and expenses in tax assessments in periods different from those in which they are recognised in financial statements. Deferred tax is measured using tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the year end and that are expected to apply to the reversal of the timing difference.
Unrelieved tax losses and other deferred tax assets are recognised only to the extent that it is probable that they will be recovered against the reversal of deferred tax liabilities or other future taxable profits.
Hire purchase and leasing commitments
Rentals paid under operating leases are charged to profit or loss on a straight line basis over the period of the lease.
Rental income
Rental income includes amounts receivable under lease agreements and any related service charges recoverable from tenants, where applicable. Lease incentives granted are recognised as an integral part of the total rental income and are spread over the lease term.
Income is recognised when it is probable that the economic benefits associated with the transaction will flow to the Company and the amount of income can be measured reliably.
Where rent is contingent on future events (for example, turnover-based rent), such amounts are recognised as income in the period in which the triggering event occurs.
Amounts received in advance are recognised as deferred income within creditors and released to the profit and loss account over the lease term. Rental income is stated net of value added tax and other sales-related taxes.
Debtors
Short term debtors are measured at transaction price, less any impairment. Loans receivable are measured initially at fair value, net of transaction costs, and are measured subsequently at amortised cost using the effective interest method, less any impairment.
Creditors
Short term trade creditors are measured at the transaction price. Other financial liabilities, including bank loans, are measured initially at fair value, net of transaction costs, and are measured subsequently at amortised cost using the effective interest method.
Going concern
The financial statements have been prepared on a going concern basis. The director has reviewed the company’s forecasts and considers the company will continue to trade for the foreseeable future.
