The company was formed to provide: >An accessible and friendly environment where children, young people and Families are encouraged and supported to realise their full potential. >To reach out, listen and encourage users to participate and have their say across all aspects of the community. >To help and educate young people and Family's through their leisure time activities so as to develop their physical, mental and spiritual capacities. Providing equality of opportunity so individuals may grow to full maturity, valuing themselves and the wider community that surrounds them. >To improve their life chances and provide them with information, support and guidance around issues that impact the everyday lives of those within local communities including drugs and alcohol misuse, education and training, health and sexual education and other subjects which are relevant to young people and their families. Over the period of this financial year Sunderland Community Action Group CIC continue to meet the ever changing local need and provide youth and community provision across the City of Sunderland. Working in collaboration and partnership with local, national voluntary and statutory sector organisations we continue to address and support those issues impacting young people and their family members on a daily basis. We continue to offer members of the local community access to our apprenticeship placement and program in partnership with Coach Core. We have gained additional support and funding via the RANK foundation. We continue to work in collaboration with Sunderland City council to support local people including delivering programs under the UK Shared prosperity fund. Working across the North of the City supporting young people and families. We continue to offer a range of provision including: Detached (street based), centre based, outreach, issue based and generic
The local communities across the City of Sunderland: young people and their families are our stakeholders. Sunderland Community Action Group CIC consult, engage in regular feedback from local members of the community on a sessional basis. We gather information from our members via direct engagement and consultation which influences and supports the ongoing development of our programs of delivery. Feedback from members enable our staff team to shape the support / interventions needed to meet local need. This ongoing dialogue enables Sunderland Community Action Group to take action accordingly and provide the support needed in a short time frame. In addition to face to face feedback from members we undertake online questionnaire’s and often get direct feedback via our Facebook and social media pages. Consultation has taken place with local: communities, schools, Academies, young people, families, residents and partnership agents and Sunderland City Council regarding local needs and preparation of future provision and services. Strengthening and engagement with youth and community consortiums/ partners to strengthen impact of program of delivery.
