Over the past year, Young Mining Professionals CIC has continued to deliver its charitable purpose by organising a series of industry networking events, panel discussions and professional development activities for early-career professionals across the mining and minerals sector. These events brought together participants from industry, finance, government and academia, helping to build professional networks, share knowledge and promote responsible mining practices. The CIC also supported career development by creating opportunities for mentorship, recruitment and engagement with prospective employers, enabling young professionals to access new career pathways and strengthen connections across the sector.
Throughout the year, the CIC sought feedback from attendees, speakers, sponsors and industry partners following its events and networking activities. This consultation informed the selection of future event topics, speakers and formats, ensuring activities remained relevant to the needs of early-career professionals and the wider mining sector. The CIC also maintained regular dialogue with employers, industry associations and academic institutions to understand emerging skills requirements and identify opportunities to better connect young professionals with career development and employment opportunities.
