COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

THE GLOBAL VILLAGE CAFE CIC

Company Number: 12985679 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 October 2025

Company activities and impact

Our work continues supporting refugees and asylum seekers. We employ refugees - paying the Real Living Wage and train and encourage asylum seekers in Lancaster to volunteer with us. Not only do they get chance to share their culinary heritage but it’s a safe place for them benefitting their mental health whilst they await decisions from the Home Office. Our weekly free lunches for asylum seekers has grown into a wonderful community project where we regularly get upwards of 50 coming for a very cheap (free for refugees & asylum seekers) nutritious lunch. It provides further opportunity for integration within the community.

Consultation with stakeholders

We consult with our staff continuously over menu design, ingredient sourcing, presentation and involve them as much as is practicable in the wider running of the business to give them an appreciation of what it's like to run a business in the UK as some do want to eventually go onto running their own businesses.

Directors' remuneration

No remuneration was received

Transfer of assets

No transfer of assets other than for full consideration
