The Nigerian Yorkshire Communities Network UK CIC since its creation as part of its visions to the communities have recognized the need for local food share support, fighting poverty in our diverse communities, accessing regular weekly foodbank/mobile food distribution by families living in the deprived area of Leeds have been a challenges, and on the 11th October 2020 when the organization was created we immediately recognizes the food request needs by the community. The Nigerian Yorkshire Communities Network UK CIC mobile food bank pantry community service based in the Armley area of Leeds have a huge positive support backbone for families within the community and we are proud to be that organisation feeding the community through support and partnership with various supermarket, Fareshare and Neighbourly, etc. Our aims and objectives to our community is to continue to feed the community, tackle food waste. tackling food poverty and supporting families with high cost of living within Leeds, supporting families with up to 80-100 free food parcel on a weekly basis. The year 2025 was a challenging one and more than 5000 families have benefited immensely from our organisation activities, children,adults, elderly,pensioners,homeless,asylum seekers and refugees within the community, also collaboration on some activities have also benefited our members, and we intend to follow through any feedbacks and improve better.
Stakeholders consultation & meetings within the communities in Yorkshire are mostly volunteers, charity, community groups,church and mosques and local council leaders, families, students and businesses, and other organisations especially from time to time, we do have community event partnership to support the community by working with the local government representatives. NYCN foodshare/food bank programme is a collarboration partnership working together across the board supermarkets,fareshare and neighborly to continue to fight and eradicate food poverty, the high cost of living as off today have really shifted the focus and the focus and the attention of our organisation supporting homeless, asylum seeker, refugee, vulnerable families, address high level of child poverty, and we continue to take step to engage with the Leeds city council, council leaders, and food suppliers for their ongoing continue support.
